Stolen women: Invisible heroines of our history

Muse, assistant, wife – these are just three of the classic roles of women whose influence has been erased from history. Their achievements were ignored, while men like Pablo Picasso, Fritz Haber and Albert Einstein received awards and recognition for their work. However, her partners, colleagues and daughters, who made a significant contribution to her work, are still little known today. Scientists, artists, demonstrators and researchers – historian Leonie Schöler is finally giving all of these invisible heroines the visibility they deserve with her book “Stolen Women”. The book fundamentally questions our image of the past 200 years and illustrates how important the discussion about participation and visibility is in our society.
