If the beginnings of the game Harold Halibut dates from 2012, the software was really propelled by a campaign of crowdfunding successful in 2017. Direction early 2024 for this title made entirely of modeling clay using the technique of stop motion (frame-by-frame animation made with plasticine subjects, photographed in 3D settings also designed by hand).

Wallace and big myths

While humanity has left Earth 250 years ago, we find ourselves in an underwater vessel lost in an extraterrestrial ocean alongsideHarold Halibut, assistant to the ship’s chief Jeanne Mareaux. The title offers a narrative adventure centered around the theme of friendship, and will offer the opportunity to explore said ship with a retrofuturistic aesthetic. The trailer released by Slow Bros. bathes in a gently melancholy atmosphere, and surprises with the fluidity of its animation, yet 100% done by hand. The title will benefit from full English dubbing.

If you are ever passing through Zurich, know that the dolls and decorations used for the creation ofHarold Halibut are visible at the Zurich Design Museum (Museum für Gestaltung Zürich) as part of the exhibition Game Design Today.
