New rumors evoke the Switch 2, whose development kit would already be at certain studios. Enough to collect some crisp information.
Next March, the Japanese giant’s hybrid console will celebrate its seventh birthday, a perfect age to retire (and not 64). It is therefore normal that the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 is predicted for 2024… and that means that the deadline is approaching and that the rumors of the corridors should multiply.

According to VGC, citing several sources, the development kits for the future console are already in the hands of certain key studios to accompany the launch of the machine. The dates match.
Prying developers claim that the future console could also be used in portable mode. The name (unofficial for the moment) of ” Switch 2 would make sense then, although with Nintendo one might expect a more exotic name, like ” Switch U ” Or ” Switch Advance SP “.
Bad news, however: some claim that the console would be launched with an LCD screen to reduce manufacturing costs. A questionable choice, especially since the difference in screen quality of the Switch Oled compared to the original is as obvious as it is appreciable.
This would nevertheless balance the costs despite a significant increase in storage. Remember that the Switch is rather limited at this level and that a microSD card quickly becomes essential for players who like to pile up their games. This should be all the more important on a more powerful console capable of running current-gen games, often exceeding 100 GB.

It should be noted, however, that these are rumors for the moment and that they remain as such unverifiable. What’s more, if we are considering a release at the end of 2024 to accompany Christmas sales, Nintendo would still have time to make changes to its future console. This information should therefore be taken with a grain of salt, you have been warned.
