“While nothing major happened in our yard apart from dirt and a broken garden, in other places in the region entire bridges were torn down, paths destroyed and a number of cellars and houses full of mud,” says Hinteregger. Only the small grain mill on the Oswalder Bach, which was severely damaged in the last major storm two years ago, was swept away several meters by the tsunami: “We wanted to renovate it, now that will no longer be possible.”
