During his visit to the Salon de l’Agriculture, Prime Minister Gabriel Attal attacked the figures of the National Rally, accusing Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella of being “stowaways” in the agricultural crisis. In “40 years”, the RN has “absolutely done nothing, proposed nothing”, he estimated.
Prime Minister Gabriel Attal on Tuesday accused the leaders of the National Rally of being the “free riders” of the agricultural crisis, pointing out their “absolute inconsistency”. Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella “come to ponder this crisis, to explain that they have all the solutions”, estimated the head of government on RTL. But in “40 years”, the RN has “absolutely nothing done, nothing proposed”, he added at the start of a one-day visit to the Agricultural Show.
“What has Marine Le Pen done for 20 years in the European Parliament? Has there been a proposed resolution or a proposed amendment? Nothing, nothing at all,” lamented Gabriel Attal. “There is an absolute inconsistency of the National Rally which votes for the CAP (Common Agricultural Policy Editor’s note) once, against the CAP the next time. When we reform crop insurance, they are not in the hemicycle to vote for it. When we implement the Egalim law, they do not vote for it,” he listed.
Floor prices, a proposal “different from that of La France insoumise”
The RN “instrumentalizes” the anger of farmers to “sow a form of chaos”, he denounced. The Prime Minister also returned to the establishment of “floor prices” on agricultural raw materials mentioned on Saturday by Emmanuel Macron. “We will ensure that production cost indicators that exist, they are in the law, (…) can be the basis for constructing the price,” he explained, hoping for a bill in the summer for entry into force next year.
“It has nothing to do with the proposal from France Insoumise, which wants to transform our farmers into civil servants and nationalize mass distribution,” he assured. “Between the USSR and the Far West, there is a balance,” he added.
