Unveiled during the gamescom 2022, Stranded: Alien Dawn was launched last month, Early Access on PC. The survival game on an alien planet by Frontier Foundry and Haemimont Games (Surviving Mars) will therefore be entitled to several updates to improve the experience and add content over the months.
And the players of Stranded: Alien Dawn will be able to discover many new features on December 1st with the update Dunes and Moonswhich will add a desert biome, a new survivor, three new moons and two difficulty levels. The developers detail:
Players participating in Early Access will be able to explore the Desertum biome, a new alien environment who will test their group of abandoned survivors. The rocky and orange landscape of Desertum will give players a hard time, with little vegetation and poor soil quality requiring a strategic approach to ensure that survivors can best thrive. In addition to unpredictable weather events during sandstorms, players will be able to use the resources of Desertum to cope with both wet and arid seasons and thus transform their crash zone into a radiant base.
In addition to a fascinating new biome, players can now add a new survivor to their party: Sora. Her difficult past has prepared her for the waves of heat and cold found in Desertum. Finally, his enhanced combat abilities can prove vital during attacks from aliens, such as the savage and deadly reptilians Tecatli, representing one of the new threats to the survival of the group.
As part of this update, three new moons (Jason, Nyx, and Chaos) will also shine in the skies of Stranded: Alien Dawn, each having a distinct impact on gameplay. Jason’s presence will provide survivors with a good dose of adversity, while giving them the time they need to prepare and recover during events. Nyx influences wild life so that there are more attacks during the night, while Chaos, aptly named, increases the chances of unpredictable events and therefore increased difficulty during the game.
Additionally, the Dunes and Moons update introduces two additional difficulty levels to challenge the most experienced survival strategists. The new ‘Very Hard’ and ‘Insane’ difficulty modes will give experienced players looking to test themselves the ultimate opportunity to prove their skills. Players will also have the opportunity to earn five new achievementswhile the survivors struggle on their unwelcoming new planet.
