As Stranger Things season 5 is being written, Jamie Campbell Bower promises that Vecna will get revenge on Eleven and the whole gang in the final episodes of the Netflix series.
After being separated between Russia, Hawkins and California in season 4 of Stranger Things, the group finds itself more united than ever in the finale. Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and the others will have to roll up their sleeves in Hawkins to face the Upside Down that invades the real world in the final season.
Currently being written, the fifth and final salvo of episodes promises an exceptional fight between the gang and the big bad of the series, Vecna. His interpreter Jamie Campbell Bower also promises that his revenge will be terrible.
Vecna back for revenge
Although the gang thinks they got rid of him in the Season 4 finale, Vecna is too powerful a villain to take down with a few bullets and a few flames. His body has not been found and we suspect that the antagonist will be back in the fifth season of Stranger Things.
And Jamie Campbell Bower teased, in an interview for NMEa hell of a return to the style of the killer in Friday the 13th: “He’ll be angry, really angry. I don’t think he’ll be licking his wounds in his own corner. He’ll fight back, he’ll want revenge. They really got him angry. He’ll be like Jason Voorhees – they made a big mistake.”

The British actor also thinks that revenge is part of the very essence of the character: “One of the things I always said to myself and wrote [tout en me préparant] was ‘You took everything from me, now it’s my turn to take everything from you’.
Before Eleven sent him to the Upside Down, he was left alone there for a long time, with no one to talk to. But although revenge plays a big part in his relationship with her, I think he probably still has a desire to take her with him and live in a different way because she’s a part of him and he recognizes himself a lot in her.”
So will Vecna succeed in getting revenge in Season 5 of Stranger Things? And will he end up taking Eleven to the Upside Down for good? The young girl, who has always protected her friends, could very well sacrifice herself to save humanity. His death would be an emotional shock strong enough for a series finale, which is meant to be memorable.
