At the start of Season 4 of “Stranger Things” on Netflix, a mysterious website has been discovered that promises puzzles and prizes. Netzwelt reveals why these are probably NFTs.
- “Stranger Things” season 4 finally starts on Netflix in late May 2022.
- A new site with a countdown promises puzzles and prizes.
- The organizer of the promotion quickly makes it clear that the prizes must be NFTs.
While some Netflix series are released fairly quietly and secretly, hits like “Stranger Things” get lavish marketing campaigns to make sure every fan knows that new episodes are coming soon. In addition to various trailers and posters, a mysterious website has now appeared that was discovered by an Easter egg from the latest trailer.
The hidden reference “I am Hell’s Master” not only seems to be a reference to a new villain in the series, but also leads to a mysterious countdown in URL form that ends on Saturday night.
Under the “Enter” field you have the option of entering your email address, after which you will receive a message with the subject “Welcome, Nerds”. In addition, further interactive elements are promised, which should soon await you on the website.
You’ll soon be able to lose yourself in mystery as you decode messages, solve puzzles, and even collect rewards along the way.
Excerpt from the mail from Netflix and Candy
For many fans, the rewards mentioned should be of particular interest. Since the site was created in partnership with Candy, an NFT company, fans on Reddit assume this is an NFT sweepstakes. A disappointment for anyone hoping for new clips or plot clues for Season 4.
Perhaps it’s a small consolation that the start of Stranger Things season 4 is only a few weeks away after fans have waited several years for new episodes of their favorite series. In the meantime, you can content yourself with the other Netflix innovations.
