Stranger Things on Netflix: Season 4 is getting scarier than ever

It’s almost time: Stranger Things will start its fourth season in May 2022, after a three-year break. With the new trailer that was recently released, one thing is clear: evil is returning – and according to an interview, it’s supposed to be scarier than ever.

Netflix has a lot up its sleeve this year, not least the fourth season of StrangerThings. And with the recently released trailer, expectations are undoubtedly being raised – because a lot will change with the 4th season change: After the events of last season, Joyce, John, Will and Eleven leave the small town of Hawkins, causing the group of friends to split up. But evil does not rest and new supernatural (as well as natural) problems await the friends.

Take a look: The new trailer for the 4th season of Stranger Things (really) gives you goosebumps.

Stranger Things Season 4: “Some Of The Scariest Things I’ve Ever Seen As A Human”

In an interview with Polygon, the Stranger Things cast commented on the new season and revealed that it should not only be scarier, but also more mature.

I think it’s basically getting darker with each season. It gets funnier, it gets scarier, it gets more dramatic. I think that’s just bound to happen as we grow up and get older,” explains Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler in Stranger Things) in the interview. Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven in Stranger Things) adds shortly afterwards that it’s comparable to the Harry Potter parts, which at least got darker with each film. The world around Eleven in particular should drift into the horror genre, as she explains:

You will meet Eleven in her darkest state yet. It was definitely the hardest season I’ve shot to date. And there were some of the scariest things I’ve ever seen as a human.

The fourth season of Stranger Things will be released on Netflix this time in two episode blocks: You can watch the first five episodes from May 27, 2022 and the last five episodes of Season 4 will be released on July 1.
