After several months of silence, Netflix has finally announced when the fourth season of the hit series Stranger Things will be available on the streaming service. The starting signal is on May 27, 2022. But there was also shocking news for fans – because Netflix also revealed that the show has an expiration date.
Netflix hit: Stranger Things season 4 finally has a start date
The third season of Stranger Things started in the summer of 2019 – that was more than 2.5 years ago. Since then, fans have been waiting for the announcement of the fourth season’s start date. Netflix has poured fuel on the fire over the past few months and released numerous teaser trailers for the next season, but never commented on a potential starting signal – until now!
The streaming service finally officially announced on Twitter when the new episodes will be available: from May 27, 2022. But there is a catch. Because instead of making all episodes available at once, Netflix decided to split the season into two parts. While the first part goes online as planned at the end of March, the second phase will not start until July 1, 2022 So 5 weeks later.

Stranger Things: Season Fifth heralds the finale
In the same post, Netflix mentioned another detail that might shock fans of the series: The fourth season will be the penultimate season. The series will finally come to an end with the fifth season.
However, Netflix is promising further spin-offs and releases:
“There are still many exciting stories to tell in the world of Stranger Things: new adventures, new unexpected heroes.”
