As you may know, the Stranger Things series will come to an end with season 5. From what we know for now, writing began this summer 2022 while filming will begin sometime in 2023. Unsurprisingly, the Duffer brothers, the creators of the show, are very discreet about the plot even if they have fun distilling a few details during their various speeches.

We know, for example, that the episodes will be shorter. Good news for many spectators who had strongly criticized the length of some episodes of season 4 (some were more than 1h30). Regarding the scenario this time, season 5 will lift the veil on certain mysteries of the series, in particular on the why and how time stopped in the Upside Down from November 6, 1983.

Deaths in spades during season 5 of Stranger Things?

Another question remains unanswered, however: what will happen to our favorite characters? Season 4 was marked by the death of a character particularly appreciated by the spectators. However, during a For Your Consideration award ceremony on November 13, 2022, the Duffer Brothers have hinted that Season 5 of Stranger Things will be the deadliest of them all.

Just as important as the supernatural, we have so many characters now – most who are still alive. And it’s important to conclude these arcs. A lot of people have grown since season one, so it’s a balancing act between giving them time to complete their character arcs and also ironing out the final details and doing our final reveals.” said Ross Duffer.

You will have understood, it is this sentence “Most who are still alive” which suggest that the main characters are brought to die during this final season. Otherwise, Matt Duffer says show producers literally burst into tears over upcoming losses. “We made our producers cry, which I think is a good sign. The only other times I saw them cry was during budget meetings,” he quips. The message is clear, get ready to pull out the tissues for this 5th season of Stranger Things.
