Stranger Things VR: A psychological horror and action game announced for winter 2023 by Netflix

Since the broadcast of its very first episode in July 2016, Stranger Things has become a real phenomenon with the public. Wishing to fully exploit the success of its series, Netflix even sought to open up to the video game market by offering a few adaptations mainly intended for the mobile sector and for a retro atmosphere. However, it seems that the American company has decided to think a little bigger this time around since, last weekend, it announced that a VR game, soberly titled Stranger Things VRwas in preparation.

A title where you embody Vecna, do you like it?

Developed by California studio Tender Claws (Virtual Virtual Reality, Tempest, Tendar…), this title will invite you to embody Vecna, the antagonist of season 4. As part of an experience focused on psychological horror and action, you will have to explore unknown realities in his company while taming the Empty for the sole purpose of helping him invade the spirits that will allow him to take revenge on Eleven (Onze in French) and the town of Hawkins.

Scheduled for winter 2023, Stranger Things VR will be available on “the main virtual reality platforms” no further details at this time. We can therefore logically assume that it will arrive at least on the HTC Vive and Oculus headsets, and perhaps also on Sony’s PS VR2, although this has yet to be confirmed. To be continued.
