Streaming highlights of the week: New on Netflix, Sky and Amazon Prime Video

Don’t Look Up (Comedy)
Kate Dibiasky, student of astronomy, and her professor, Dr. Randall Mindy, discover a comet in orbit in the solar system. The problem? He is on a direct collision course with Earth. The other problem? Nobody cares. Indeed, it turns out to be quite a difficult undertaking to warn mankind about a planet killer the size of Mount Everest. 1000 km away from Christmas (comedy)
Raúl’s Christmas parties are always very unhappy. So it’s no wonder he hates Christmas carols, the three wise men and everything that has even remotely to do with the festival. How will this Christmas grouch from Madrid survive his worst nightmare? The Christmas comedy “1000 km far away from Christmas” delivers from December 24, 2021 the answer to Netflix.

Lulli (comedy)
The ambitious young medical student Lulli wants to be the best surgeon in the world one day. She doesn’t let anything and nobody stop her from this plan, not even her ex-boyfriend. But everything becomes different when she can suddenly hear the thoughts of others from an electric shock to an MRI machine. Suddenly the young woman, who has not seen anyone around her before, has to learn the wonders – and dangers – of suddenly knowing what others are thinking. The comedy “Lulli” runs from December 26, 2021 on Netflix.

L’Immortale – The Immortal (Thriller)
The film forms the narrative bridge to the fifth and final season of the mafia series “Gomorrah”. It ties in with the end of the fourth season, when Ciro was shot by Genny Savastano and sinks into the sea. Meanwhile, his whole life goes by before his eyes: how he survived an earthquake as a baby that wiped out his entire family, how he grew into a boy ten years later and learned to survive alone in the streets of Naples, and like him – taught by the criminal underworld – became who he is today: Ciro die Mario, the immortal. “L’Immortale – The Immortal” runs from the December 23, 2021 on Sky Entertainment. The final season of “Gomorrah” will be there from December 30th, 2021.

Superintelligence (comedy)
Nothing out of the ordinary never happens to Carol Peters. Then, when she receives derogatory comments from her TV, phone, and microwave, she thinks she is being made fun of. Or is she losing her mind? In reality, the world’s first superintelligence decided to study and observe Carol’s attempt to reconcile with her ex-boyfriend in order to better understand human existence. Soon the almighty being takes over her life – with ominous plans to possibly gain world domination. Now Carol may be humanity’s last chance before this mind-set AI decides to pull the plug. The comedy “Superintelligence” runs from December 23, 2021 on Sky Cinema.

The fabulous Mr. Blunden (mystery film)
The Christmas adventure begins for London teenagers Jamie and Lucy Allen in the form of a mysterious old man, Mr. Blunden, who offers her mother the chance to take care of a dilapidated country house. It is said to be haunted there. In the neglected and overgrown area, Jamie and Lucy encounter two children who appear to be ghosts. But those scary kids, Sara and Georgie, aren’t ghosts at all. They have traveled back in time for help believing they will be murdered by the evil Mr. and Mrs. Wickens. The strange visitor seems to be the key to everything. With his help they have to travel back to 1821 to save Sara and Georgie and to redeem their new friend – namely the fabulous Mr. Blunden. Sky Cinema will show the mystery film of the same name from December 24, 2021.

Sex Room, Kitchen, Bathroom – Season 1 (Dramedy Series)
The series tells with a lot of humor about the life of a student flat share in Munich’s Glockenbachviertel, right in the heart of the Isar metropolis. The life of the flat share residents on Gärtnerplatz is turned upside down when the main tenant Ina and her friend Nelson spontaneously decide to emigrate to Portugal. For the remaining roommates, the casting marathon begins to find a replacement for the two. But the wish list for the perfect successor for Ina and Nelson is long and differs from roommate to roommate. The choice falls on Sophie, including her own cleaning lady. Manhattan Queen (Comedy)

Stowaway (thriller)
Three astronauts embark on the 42nd mission to Mars, and they should be back in two years. The crew of Captain Marina Barnett include the medic Zoe and the biologist David. A few hours after take-off, they discover an involuntary stowaway: Michael. A return to earth is out of the question, and it soon becomes apparent that an irreparable defect in the supply system will mean that the oxygen will not be sufficient for all passengers. The crew has ten days to make a decision. At the December 24, 2021 Amazon includes the science fiction thriller “Stowaway” in Prime Video’s program.
