By going to one of the many domains purchased by the designers of the service (soap2day.to, soap2day.ac, soap2day.sh, soap2day.mx, s2dfree.to, s2dfree.cc, s2dfree.de, s2dfree.is, s2dfree.nl), you will be greeted with a terse message: “Hi guys : we have decided to close soap2day forever. We are sorry 🙂 Bye”.

This closure is a real surprise for its users, especially since the platform was available under various domains, a strategy that Torrent Freak says allowed its creators to evade “site blocking measures and search engine de-listing and de-indexing programs.” Also according to the site specializing in intellectual property issues relating to the Internet, “Soap2Day received around 108 million visits per month” – much more than the pillar of illegal downloading RARBG – a very impressive attendance which makes the announcement of its closure all the more amazing.
