The Corona crisis has brought another significant increase in streaming services in Germany: 42 percent are already using Netflix and Co.

The different streaming offers seem to emerge as winners from the corona crisis in Germany. As AGF Video Research was able to determine in its latest survey, usage has again grown significantly in recent months. Market leader Netflix was even able to extend its lead over its pursuers Amazon Prime Video: 34.1 percent of those surveyed said they had used Netflix in the last three months. 22.1 percent used Amazon Prime Video.

Disney + recorded the largest percentage increase in third place. Its market launch in Germany coincided with the first corona-related lockdown. The streaming service was able to work its way up from 1.5 percent to 7.2 percent. Overall, video-on-demand usage also grew strongly. 42 percent of the participants used at least one of the offers in the last three months. That is almost six points more than during the first corona wave and the corresponding lockdown in spring.
