Streamwide: operating profit down in the first half – 09/19/2022 at 18:25

(AOF) – In the first half, Streamwide generated a net profit down 44% to 1.04 million euros while current operating income before amortization fell 15% to 3.8 million euros. Revenues from the specialist in critical communications software solutions increased at the same time by 4% to 8.15 million euros. “However, certain one-off increases in personnel costs in particular affected the profitability of the half-year, down slightly compared to the first half of 2021” specified the company.

“Second-half revenues are currently in good shape,” Streamwide said of its outlook. With growth that should be close to that observed in the first half of 2022, the group’s 2022 financial year “will therefore once again be profitable, with margin rates (…) slightly down compared to those observed in 2021”.

The lucrative database market

This mature global market is expected to generate more than $40 billion in revenue this year, compared to $22 billion in 2017, according to IDC. Contrary to its initial ambitions, SAP did not succeed in dethroning Oracle. This is mainly due to major developments in this market with the emergence of Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud. Benefiting from a significant competitive advantage as companies’ data hosts, these players have gained significant market share in recent years. However, faced with a growing corporate appetite for high value-added data, traditional players have a card to play.
