Street Fighter 6: Kimberly shows up, Juri returns

EVO obliges, Street Fighter VI gave us some news on the occasion of thea biggest fighting game competition. In accordance with the leaks that had turned on the networks, Capcom presented us with a little news from the roster, Kimberley. She is a student of another well-known Street Fighter (and Final Fight) character, Guy.

She’s a prodigy who graduated college early and who wants to become a full-fledged ninja. She seems fast, full of energy and rather good at breaking mouths. With his cassette player and his paint sprays, Kimberley sweats the urban culture of the 80s-90smaybe even a little too much.

“In terms of Kimberly’s design, we sought to create an outfit suited to her quick and acrobatic movements, as she excels in sports such as track and field and cheerleading. Pair his brightly colored gi with sneakers suitable for fast travel, and you have a Bushinryu-like ninja outfit, right? We tried to make her hairstyle and outfit show off her striking figure well, as she is an expert in running and aerial attacks. The spray can and portable cassette player she wears on her waist are also used for special moves. – Takayuki Nakayama, director of Street Fighter 6

The new trailer didn’t just show us Kimberley. In the second part of the latter, the fans could only recognize Juri at the sight of his motorcycle (and a nice reference to Akira by Katsuhiro Ōtomo). Previously, his main motivation wast his revenge against M. Bison, but since the latter’s downfall in Street Fighter V, she’s been spending her time in a gloomy fog. Resuming his good old moves from the old opuses, Juri nevertheless seems more lively than ever and ready to make all its detractors suffer.

“For Juri, this costume retains the image of the one from Super Street Fighter IV, but has been rearranged to match the aesthetic of Street Fighter 6. There is also a change in the hairstyle, which I think makes him gives extra personality. Under his jacket, a black ribbon imitating the appearance of a spider covers his body. The colors of his Feng Shui motorcycle are purple, black, white, and emerald green. Also pay attention to her helmet, as you could see in the trailer when she appears on her motorbike, as it matches her design. His smartphone also reflects his personality and style, don’t you think? – Takayuki Nakayama
