Streets of Rogue 2 is set for release in 2023

Still developed by Matt Dabrowski, the sequel to Streets of Rogue is still a procedurally generated open-world roguelite, where it’s as much about crafting as it is about exploring a world by spreading chaos in the style of old Grand Theft Auto. The idea is to make it a real sandbox, with RPG elements to best personalize your gaming experience.

The procedurally generated world creates forests, islands, cities, caves and “occasionally cannibalistic villages”, and there’s obviously no story to follow or objectives to complete to speak of. On the contrary, there will be events in which it will be possible to take part, such as a coup organized by a faction of bandits, or the possibility of becoming the richest and most famous farmer in the world. Because yes, the player will have the opportunity to explore various types of content, from hacking to farming to resource mining and car racing. The available classes represent the absurdity of the content, with the possibility of playing as a scientist, a thief, a wrestler, a vampire or a gorilla, or even a combination of these.

Multiplayer modes are planned to be able to play in cooperation as well as in opposition. Streets of Rogue 2 is currently only planned on Steam, and should be released in 2023.
