On February 1st, 2024 there will be strikes at many airports in Germany and on February 2nd there will be strikes in local transport in almost all federal states. In addition, protesting farmers sometimes block motorway traffic with their tractors. This can result in traffic jams, delays and long waiting times.

For example, if you’re sitting in the car and are stuck in a traffic jam, you’ll probably want to make a wait of several hours a little more pleasant. If the car radio no longer offers enough joy, you can use music streaming apps such as Spotify, Apple Music or Tidal – ideally conveniently via the vehicle’s infotainment system.

Or how about an audio book? There are several providers, but Audible is particularly well known. The service performed very well in our test. If you are an Amazon Prime customer, you can try Audible free for 60 days. You probably won’t need that long to get through a traffic jam.

Bored at the bus stop?

If you don’t have to drive yourself and are staying at a stop for a longer time due to a strike, you can also consider a mobile game, such as Stardew Valley, Monopoly Go or Candy Crush. Maybe you even have a handheld console like the Nintendo Switch in your pocket.

However, if you have not yet started your journey, you may be able to get to your destination using other means of transport without suffering from the strikes and protests. Maybe you haven’t thought about one of these means of transport yet.
