Striking Distance Studios (The Callisto Protocol) is already laying off

At the end of last year, Striking Distance Studios launched its first game, The Callisto Protocol. The team founded by Glen Schofield, one of the creators of dead spacegave birth to a really nice horror and action game, despite flaws and a complicated launch.

Sales weren’t good at launch, the studio was accused of not crediting developers, but continued to develop additional content anyway. THE Final Drive DLC was also launched at the end of June and… it’s a page that turns for Striking Distance Studios. As reported IGN, several members of the studio have announced in recent hours that they have left Striking Distance Studiosincluding associate producer Nora Falcon, production coordinator Sebastian Marlow, the senior environment artist Matthew Smith, the artist VFX Matt Christopherson, the level designer partner Thomas Catalano and the level designer assistant Justin Fields. A spokesperson for Kraftonowner of Striking Distance Studiossent a statement to IGN to specify that 32 employees were laid off, following internal strategic changes and a willingness to review the studio’s priorities for future projects.
