Stromberg: Christoph Maria Herbst talks about a possible comeback

At the end of 2021, actor and comedian Christoph Maria Herbst mimed the spiteful insurance salesman Bernd Stromberg again to promote the corona vaccination. The reactions on the net were exuberant, because since the end of the series “Stromberg” in 2012 and a movie that followed in 2014, Herbst had not slipped into this role for television – fans missed him sorely. In the comments to the commercials of the #Upsleeves campaign, the desire for another season of “Stromberg” was expressed countless times. It could actually come!

Autumn is open to comeback

At least that’s what Christoph Maria Herbst suggested according to digitalfernsehen.de recently in an interview with Playboy magazine. When asked directly about a possible comeback from “Stromberg”, the 55-year-old reacted surprisingly optimistically. Although he expressed himself cautiously, he unmistakably fueled hope for a continuation of the series. Accordingly, he does not want to rule out that “Stromberg” will come back properly at some point, but that will definitely not happen in 2022. He first wanted to “let off steam a little and do a few other things”. It almost sounds as if the return of “Stromberg” is already on his agenda.

Stromberg is still very popular

When exactly and above all in what form the comeback will take place remains open. A new series season seems just as conceivable as a fresh film. One thing is certain: the demand is likely to be huge in any case. Christoph Maria Herbst also admits that the series is still watched regularly today and that a decade after it ended it keeps appearing in the top 10 lists of streaming services. Herbst even thinks he knows why. He sees “Stromberg” as a kind of valve for the viewers, which they open from time to time. He could well be right about that. After all, nobody is as charmingly insidious, mean and unscrupulous as Bernd Stromberg – the ideal entertainment for stressful days!
