Strong earthquake in the Marche

In many cities, houses shook for several seconds.

lzb. Rome. The earth shook in Italy on Wednesday morning. The National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology has detected numerous earthquakes off the Marche and Pesaro coasts.

The strongest was a magnitude 5.7 tremor at 7:07 a.m., followed by another of magnitude 4 at 7:12 a.m. Between 7:15 a.m. and 7:35 a.m., the institute reported nine more earthquakes of magnitude 3.6 to 2.4.
According to initial reports, no one was injured, but numerous reports of cracks and crevices in house walls were received.

According to the Ansa news agency, a private clinic in Ancona was partially evacuated. In several cities in the region, school and university classes have been suspended as a precaution. As a precaution, train traffic was suspended near Ancona due to suspected damage to the tracks and to carry out checks. The earthquake was clearly felt in almost all of central and northern Italy.
