Prime members can look forward to a special film offer from Amazon Prime Video once a month. Numerous titles, sometimes new, sometimes old, are then offered as rental films for a weekend at the bargain price of 99 cents.

The selection occasionally leaves something to be desired. Many older titles can already be found on other streaming services at no extra charge and new films can be counted on one hand. But things are different this weekend!

A feast for film fans

A total of 54 films are available for you to choose from until January 7, 2024, but we would like to highlight the following titles:

The acclaimed drama “Past Lives” could play an important role at the upcoming Oscars. This also applies to “The Teacher’s Room”, Germany’s entry in the “Best Foreign Language Film” category this year.

Amazon Prime Video in the test
Amazon’s streaming service in the quality check!

With its diverse offering, Amazon Prime Video is one of Netflix’s biggest competitors. You can find out what Amazon does better than other providers in our test report.

“John Wick: Chapter 4” is of course now also available on WOW, but on Amazon you can see the action hit with Keanu Reeves in 4K. “Blue Beetle”, the penultimate film from the DCEU, failed at the box office, but is certainly entertaining and more than worth its 99 cents.

Blockbusters like “Barbie”, “Gran Turismo” and “Meg 2: The Deep” can now be caught up here cheaply, as can Wes Anderson’s latest comedy “Asteroid City” and the animated film “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem”, which is stylistically reminiscent of “Spider-Man: A New Universe”, we can recommend it to you.
