During its latest Keynote, Apple lifted the lid on its lineup of new products. Among them, the Studio Display, a brand new screen
available since March 18. However, the camera on board by the latter is regrettably not up to expectations…

Marketed at a price of 1,749 euros, the Apple Studio Display has a 27-inch 5K screen and is equipped, among other things, with Dolby Atmos speakers. But the screen of the Apple brand also includes a 12 megapixel webcam of deplorable quality to say the least. A situation to which Apple intends to react soon.

A webcam still perfectible… but soon corrected by Apple

A few days ago, we mentioned to you that it would be possible to use the Studio Display under Windows as a standard screen. If the Apple screen loses many of its features on the way under the Microsoft operating system, the camera was obviously part of the elements announced as being functional. Still, would it have to be worth it…

Indeed, the 12-megapixel webcam, which the Studio Display is equipped with, unfortunately does not live up to its promises. This produces grainy images on the screen with strongly washed-out colors, as Joanna Stern points out, who did not fail to alert Apple. Faced with this observation, the manufacturer then quickly took the floor on this subject.

According to the statements of the manufacturer, the origin of this concern would come from an element of the system which would not behave as it should. This is why the Apple brand has indicated that a software update will soon be deployed in order to solve, once and for all, this unfortunate problem.
