These are the places couples want to have sex – and these are where they have it

Whirlpool? Beach? Plane? Or where would you like to have sex? If you can't think of anything spontaneously: Perhaps the following study will give you a helping hand …
Not everyone talks about it, but sex is an important topic for many people – especially when they are relaxed and have time, for example on vacation. While most people stick to tried and tested positions and rituals at home, holidays are the time for many to act out their fantasies and experiment a bit. What is beautiful and exciting in your own bedroom becomes even more exciting when you are away from home – at least a recent study on the initiative of "Urlaubspiraten" and "We-Vibe" suggests.
5,300 people interviewed
The two companies asked around 5,300 people about their sex habits while traveling: Toys in their luggage, yes or no, if traveling solo, then with whom, how much at all and, particularly interesting, in which places are the most colorful, far away where nobody knows you.
To put the expected findings in a nutshell: Around half of the respondents said they often have sex on vacation, around 40 percent take a sex toy with them on the trip and singles mostly enjoy themselves with other vacationers (63 percent) and not during the holidays very rarely with locals (20 percent). The cliché of the flight attendant or diving instructor affair, however, was only fulfilled by only 1 percent each.
And now to the more open part of the survey: the where.
Most of them have had sex in these places
Almost all of the respondents have had sex in a hotel room, 96 percent have made themselves homely in their travel accommodation. A proud 52 percent also drove it in the car on vacation (in the rental car in front of me …?), 42 percent in a camping van or similar vehicle and at least nine percent have already made a boat rock. Whether this helps against seasickness or is counterproductive would be a follow-up question, but a larger sample would have to be used to answer it (volunteers before …?!).
Only two percent of those surveyed in this study tried out the sex on the plane, which is much wacky in film and TV productions – but 35 percent still have it on the bucket list. Which brings us to the fantasies …
Couples would like to have sex in these places
55 percent of the study participants would like to have sex in the pool for once – if only it weren't for the kids making the jump bomb … 54 percent of those questioned also found sex on the beach to be tingling in their imagination. This makes Sex on the Beach about as popular as in a romantic alpine hut. Half of the respondents are enthusiastic about a shepherd's hour on a boat – it smells like a medical follow-up study on seasickness.
After all, 12 percent fantasize about intimacy in museums and some of the respondents would like to do it on viewing platforms, mountain peaks, roof terraces or cable cars. If vacation on the farm is really the trend in a few years' time, the break in the pigsty will certainly dash forward in all surveys. But until then we like to dream a little more about a few hot scenes in an adult, abandoned pool …
