A 29-year-old Iraqi citizen from Wels reported to the police that he was knocked down by three unidentified males at around 2.40 a.m. in Schmidtgasse. When he was on the ground, he was still kicked, and the perpetrators demanded all the money and items he had with him. One of the perpetrators then stole the cash from his wallet. The victim was able to clearly recognize one of the perpetrators on the basis of an ATM card found at the crime scene. It was a 25-year-old Croatian citizen from Wels. When he was arrested, he betrayed his accomplices. As a result, a 28-year-old compatriot was also arrested. Both were arrested. The third perpetrator, a 23-year-old Croatian also from Wels, was reported at large. Some of the perpetrators have confessed.
