Oversize sweaters can be a real styling challenge in winter. They are best worn under a poncho or cape.

If you want to leave the house in an oversize sweater in winter, you probably know the problem: If the sleeves are too wide, unsightly rolls of fabric form under the jacket, it is tight and the freedom of movement often leaves a lot to be desired. The solution: a cape or poncho. Models made of warming wool or with a padded quilted look protect against the icy temperatures and promise easy styling.

Enough space for a lot of material

Both ponchos and capes are worn over the XXL sweater, but do not restrict freedom of movement because they have no sleeves. Instead, the fabric rests on the shoulders and wraps the person wearing it in warmth. Ponchos are characterized by a cutout through which the head is tucked, capes can usually be closed with buttons or cords. The advantage: No matter how wide the sleeves or the sweater in general, the fashionable fabric cover always offers enough space for it.

Influencer Xenia Adonts (30) shows with her choice. On cold days in Paris, she is out and about in a stylish cape that is tied at the collar. Underneath, she wears a black wool sweater that harmonizes perfectly with the winter it-piece. If you want to protect your hands and arms from the cold, you can use gauntlets. These can also be hidden underneath with wide sweater sleeves. Meanwhile, a belt that fashionistas like to wear over a poncho or cape ensures a narrow waist.
