SU7: Xiaomi’s first electric car will be launched this month in China


Xiaomi wants to make a place for itself in the automobile market, more precisely in that of electric cars. The Chinese tech giant unveiled its first model, the SU7 sedan, at the end of 2023. It will be available in China from March 28, 2024, in two weeks.

The announcement was made on Weibo by Xiaomi, which has not yet communicated any intention to import its model to Europe. We nevertheless suspect that this eventuality is part of Xiaomi’s plans, which hopes to be one of the five largest automobile manufacturers in the world within around fifteen years, no less.

As a reminder, the SU7 is an electric sedan comparable to a Porsche Taycan, for example. The German model also seems to have largely influenced Xiaomi designers, probably lacking inspiration. The SU7 should, however, be sold at a much more accessible price, but that remains the main mystery that Xiaomi is keeping for the moment.
