Success for Carinthian – Billiards: Gold for Albin Ouschan at the 9-Ball World Championship

Billiards professional Albin Ouschan won the title at the 9-ball world championship in Milton Keynes!

The 30-year-old from Carinthia defeated Omar Al Shaheen from Kuwait 13: 9 in the final on Thursday evening and won his second World Cup after 2016. Two years earlier he had lost in the final.

Against Al Shaheen he was 7: 9 back, but then turned up strongly, giving the Kuwaiti no chance and secured the winner’s check worth 50,000 US dollars.

In the semifinals, Ouschan celebrated an 11: 4 victory over the Spaniard David Alcaide. The Tyrolean Maximilian Lechner was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Alcaide, but achieved his best World Cup result.
