Successful search – Linz bank robbers (40) caught in the Czech Republic


Masked with an NMS mask, a man armed with a revolver had attacked the Deniz bank in downtown Linz on March 17th. Thanks to mug shots, he was now able to be investigated and arrested in the Czech Republic. He was transferred to Linz on Wednesday.

With a revolver in hand, the suspect had entered the Deniz bank in the city center around 5 p.m. and forced the employees to hand over the money. He then took a taxi to Freistadt and fled from there by train to the Czech Republic.

Comprehensive confession
The identity of the robber could be clarified on the basis of indications from published mug shots. The suspect, a 40-year-old unemployed Czech, was arrested in the Bruntal region by means of a European arrest warrant and extradited to Austria on Wednesday. The man confesses extensively.
