He neglected to place the brake shoe under the wheels of the trailer to brake it. The trailer started moving and trapped the man between the excavator and the trailer. The victim was rescued by the excavator driver and two witnesses to the incident. The rescue chain was immediately set in motion. Succumbing to his injuries, the emergency doctor and the Friesach rescue service provided the man with first aid. He was then taken to Friesach Hospital with serious injuries, where he subsequently died from his injuries.
