In the episode of Un si grand soleil which aired tonight on France 2, Myriam’s lifeless body was found in the L. Cosmétiques warehouse. Pauline Paolini, her interpreter, reacts to the death of her character and her departure from the series.
Allociné: From cashier to general manager of L. Cosmétiques, Myriam has established herself as a key character in Un si grand soleil. What is your assessment of its development over the past two years?
Pauline Paolini : Myriam progressed quite quickly with meetings that were significant each time. Throughout the course of this character, it is true that there have been very strong intrigues. What was also interesting for me were all the subjects that were covered for two years through Myriam. There were social issues that were very interesting to deal with. I was lucky enough to be in very different plots in terms of emotion, things to play and characters to meet. It is especially his personal journey that I find interesting.
How do you view the Marc-Myriam couple?
Marc (César Méric) and Myriam are experiencing something strong. They would have been able to overcome a lot. Their relationship was strong enough, tight enough and sincere enough to face all the external events that could go against them.
Myriam will unfortunately come to a tragic end since she will be found dead in the L. Cosmétiques warehouse. When did you learn that Myriam was going to die? And how did you react?
It was a joint decision with the production that the character of Myriam leaves. It’s the way she leaves that really surprised me. It’s a little violent (laughs). Finally, I think it’s good to end an adventure rather than stay in the dark.
I spent two extraordinary years on the Un si grand soleil adventure. It’s true that I wanted to give myself more time and space for other projects. It was good to experience something great and quit. And so to really stop, a character must die. Otherwise we are always in something unresolved.
How was the filming of your very last scene in the series?
It was very moving. It was a scene with Mélanie Maudran where Claire and Myriam make a beautiful declaration of friendship. It was very moving to shoot because with Mélanie we created something very strong. It was a real pleasure to shoot with her and I think it was a shared pleasure.
What memory of filming and what plot will remain the most striking?
I really liked the plot on the end of life with Violette. It’s something that really touched me.
What will you miss the most now that the page Un si grand soleil is turning?
It’s the quality of the people we work with. Whether it’s the technical team, the actors, the production, … We are really well surrounded with a lot of kindness.
