Such great sunshine: why did Corinne Touzet refuse to appear in the series?

Two years ago, Corinne Touzet revealed that she had been approached to appear in one of the famous daily soap operas, “Un si grand soleil”. The actress has just revealed the role she was supposed to play, but which she refused.

Small flashback sequence. In June 2022, actress Corinne Touzet revealed on Télé Loisirs that she had been approached to appear in one of the famous daily soap operas, Un si grand soleil.

“I’m a very, very fan. I have lots of friends who play in it. Sometimes I even watch it on replay. I met the producer who offered me an important role… but I was afraid of lacking freedom. I am an entertainment entrepreneur. But I have to be available when I’m needed in the theater, sometimes at short notice. You can’t say no when you have a small business like mine which remains very artisanal.”

She concluded by explaining that it was not “not a definite no”. Two years later, it is clear that the person concerned has still not taken the plunge. But above all reveals which character the producers of the series had proposed, at the microphone of the podcast Dhombres et de Lumières from Télé Loisirs.

“I was afraid of recurrence”

Well before filming started, I was offered the role of the mother-in-law (who will be played by Chrystelle Labaude), because I love Mélanie Maudran (who plays the character Claire Estrella in the series) with whom I had filmed The eyes of the volcanoa great series for France 2.

So the producer called me in, we talked and I ended up refusing because I was scared. Not the quality of the series, which I find fantastic and which I watch because I have lots of friends who play in it, but the recurrence.”

And to add: “Besides, it’s good that I can talk about it because a lot of things have been written to justify my refusal, without anyone asking me the question and that pisses me off! So, if I haven’t make such a big sun, it’s just for fear of returning to a recurrence, when I had just left!”

On the news side, Corinne Touzet is currently showing in a play, The Duplexplayed at Paris theateralongside Francis Perrin, Pascal Légitimus and Anny Duperey.
