Suicide of young Lucas: “A word in his diary …”, this heartbreaking revelation from the prosecutor

A tragic news item took place in France on Saturday January 7, 2023. That day, a young teenager by the name of Lucas killed himself, when he was only 13 years old. Assuming his homosexuality in broad daylight, this schoolboy educated in Golbey in the Vosges was victim of school bullying and homophobia. A preliminary investigation for “harassment of a 15 year old minor” and “school harassment” was opened following the suicide of the young man. The purpose of this one is to discover if moral outrage actually led the teenager to end his life or not.

“Be careful about the causal link“, indicated the public prosecutor of Epinal, Frédéric Nahon, during a press conference organized on Friday January 13, 2023. “The purpose of our investigation is to confirm the reality of the acts of harassment, their duration, as well as the exact content of the comments and behavior denounced. The investigations will endeavor to verify the causal link between these facts and the suicide.“, he also added, before making a heartbreaking revelation about this affair. “Lucas had left a note in his diary explaining his desire to end his life (…) but it does not refer to harassment“, he revealed.

“He was harassed regularly in relation to his outfit, his way of being, what he gave off. He was whole so he was not hiding. This perhaps bothered some people who dared not be as whole as him. He spoke about it to his mother who reacted well by calling the CPE, the main… When he came home from school, he complained about what he went through again and again. His mother called for help several times. The school environment, where he spent three-quarters of his time, did not react as it should“, said a relative of the family of the young teenager, who decided to file a complaint, at the microphone of RMC.
