Harley Quinn fans are going to have to be patient as the Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League game has been postponed, as Rocksteady studio head Sefton Hill announced on Twitter. But if the game is on the same level as the Batman Arkham series, the wait will be bearable.

The rumor had been circulating for some time, but the announcement finally fell today: Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League will not be released in 2022, and will arrive in our homes next year. The exact release date has not yet been announced, but according to the statements made, the game will be released in the spring of 2023.

Fuzzy reasons

In his tweet, Sefton Hill does not give any specific reason for this postponement. It simply says that this delay is necessary for the game to provide the best possible experience for players. This statement from one of the fathers of the Batman Arkham Asylum game series, which has been quite well received by both players and critics, demonstrates the studio’s desire to produce a work of which they will be proud. At a time when (too) many scandals concerning the working conditions of developers and the various crunches suffered by them are denounced everywhere, leaving Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League the time it takes to be optimized is rather good news.

This does not prevent some teeth from grinding, and pointing the finger that the artistic direction of the game does not suit them, compared to that darker of Batman. Others add a small layer, by reminding more or less subtly, that even after several postponements, certain titles do not provide a decent experience when they are released (hello Cyberpunk 2077). As for fans of DC games, they can take their troubles patiently with Gotham Knights.

Around the game

For those who haven’t heard of this game yet, it will be an action game, solo or in coop. Player(s) will be able to embody members of the Suicide Squad to fight against a corrupt Justice League. Some of the iconic figures of the latter have already been shown, such as Flash (visible in the trailer) or even Superman.
