Suicide Squad is the meeting of a team of supervillains from the DC Comics universe to accomplish “suicide” missions in order to obtain reduced sentences. In 2016, Warner financed the first “live” adventure of these anti-heroes under the leadership of director David Ayer, known for his films on the police (End of Watch), the military (Fury) and the commandos (Sabotage).
In interview with ColliderDavid Ayer has confirmed that a passage of the film was directed and directed by Zack Snyder, author of Man of Steel, Batman V Superman and Justice League.
The latter directed the sequence featuring The Flash. A nice surprise for fans, who weren’t expecting to see this much-loved superhero in the film. This scene tells of the capture of Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney) by Barry Allen and here it is below:
David Ayer also clarified, still at Collider:
Flash was always planned in the movie, we were lucky because Justice League was filming, so they had the costume, the means, so we were able to shoot this moment.
The sequence was shot while Suicide Squad was in post-production and filming for Justice League was underway. Note that The Flash is played by Ezra Miller and that at the time, the film dedicated to him was to be shot after Justice League. Justice League’s failure, writing issues and then the pandemic pushed the project back for years.
At the time of these lines, The Flash is now complete, working on its editing and special effects for a release on June 21, 2023.
