Summary of Ankama Live DOFUS on patch 2.65

As the seventh edition of the Temporis servers has just ended with a major tournament, it’s time for the development team to look into what’s next. And the next big step for DOFUS is patch 2.65, which gets a very special focus with a dedicated Ankama Live this September 6 at 3:00 p.m. The beta of this update is scheduled for September 7 (it’s tomorrow).

The small details of the start of live

Very early on, Logan, Kewl and Djinn specified that this update would be quite light. The focus is above all on the 2.66 update, the new class and the redesign of the Alliances. We take the opportunity to take a look at Unity, with a short video that shows the obvious differences between the two versions of the game. It’s just a simple port, without the improvements planned for the Unity version. But the results are there, with a game that runs at a constant 60 FPS, and without lag on the animations.

Expeditions, PvM seasons on DOFUS from 2.65

Great novelty of this patch 2.65 on DOFUS that we were able to discover during Ankama Live, the Expeditions. The latter will be divided into seasons which will rekindle the interest of PvM and certain neglected areas. The seasons will not necessarily follow one another.

The first, scheduled for September 27, revolves around the mercenaries of Astrub. It is intended for high-level players, with welcome alterations. Each week, 2 new expeditions will be offered to players, in addition to the first 5.

  • Expeditions –
    • PvM Exclusive Seasonal Experience
      • First season focused on the Mercenaries
    • Intended for levels 180 and above
    • Two game modes:
      • “Valour” Idol
        • Increases the difficulty of a dungeon
      • “Audacity” idol
        • Alternate dungeon operation
      • Can be changed at Astrub
    • New missions every week
    • A season is expected to last approximately 3 months
    • Temporis reward system

To better understand this system, the example is given with Count Harebourg. The “Audacity” and “Bravery” idols alter the classic functioning of the dungeon to modify its difficulty. For each successful dungeon, players receive Let’s shipa currency used to track its progress.

A frieze of rewards is planned to make players want to participate, and looks like that of a Temporis. It has two levels, the first free, the second paying. This is a battle pass, although paid rewards are exclusively cosmetic. Note that it is possible to buy it with Kamas. Among the rewards, there are 4 outfits, harnesses and objects usable in game.

Balancing coming in the update

We continue the DOFUS 2.65 live by now focusing on balancing. And there are heavy things planned. Common spells are all given a variant, and some are tweaked slightly so they aren’t too strong. This is particularly the case for the arakne and the chafer, which have their damage reduced. Three new common spells are also appearing, including an earth and a water.

But the bulk of this update is the major modification of the Pandawa. If there remains a tank in the soul, certain values are revised downwards, in addition to seeing the Fermentation and the Vulnerability become the variant of each other. Its damage is in return revised upwards, with in particular new spells in all the elementary ways to throw.

Also, the Ecaflip gains a state above it to see the element of its Deception. Small part on the Eliotrope, which gains minor fixes for class consistency. Follows the Huppermage who gains clarification in his elemental combinations. Finally, the Ouginak takes nerfs on some of his spells, including the Bare which gains an overall recovery time.

What else for DOFUS patch 2.65?

A lot of information is given about this update, including the start of server merges. Merger waves are planned from mid-September to October for this. Also, many issues related to dreams will be fixed. Finally, the unique attires obtained in convention are added in game. The means of obtaining them are unknown, as well as their rate. But this will greatly limit the black market around.

  • Bulk improvements:
    • The number of sets is increased to 60
    • Enabling Guild Chest Tabs
    • Merger of the “Cape” and “Backpack” category
    • New categories of objects in HDV
    • Possibility of selling Dofus in HDV
    • Changes to recipes asking for ores that are too rare
    • Shortcut fixes for macOS
