the Summer Game Fest replaces E3 once again, and must therefore come up against all the expectations of fans, more and more numerous in this context where the pandemic has postponed a lot of projects. Geoff Keighleyorganizer of the event, therefore took the lead in somewhat tempering the expectations of some during a Twitter Spaces session, relayed by VGC, in which he specified that the June 9 conference will mainly highlight games that have already been announced.
A conference without a shattering reveal?
Don’t expect to be entitled to many sensational announcements this Thursday, June 9th. In any case, this Geoff Keighley prefers to tell us, because even if he praises the merits of his show, he warns that the latter will not be able to satisfy everyone:
” What I would say, is that many of the games that we are going to show you have already been announced… games will show you new content, like some of the ones I mentioned [The Callisto Protocol, Gotham Knights, Cuphead]. We have a few new game announcements for this show and hopefully a few surprises if all goes well..
But it’s definitely a show that mostly focuses on things that are foretold. We’re preparing great things for you, but temper your expectations of mega-shocking announcements. It’s not the Game Awards. We have a lot of great things to show you, but beware of some crazy rumors I see in terms of announcements. »
Geoff Keighley therefore prefers that we revise our forecasts downwards to avoid being disappointed, which is the best way to be surprised. It remains to be seen which crazy rumors he speaks, even if we obviously think of silent Hill here (listen, we prefer not to expect anything). Also remember that last year, the person concerned had said the same thing, and that the show highlighted Elden Ring for his comeback.
