Which song will be the official summer hit this year? Despite the corona pandemic, there will be hot beats again in 2021.
Due to the corona pandemic, it is not yet possible to party in clubs, but the soundtrack for summer 2021 has a lot to offer. Which songs have the potential to become the official summer hit this year? Here are six hot contenders.
Justin Wellington feat. Small Jam: “Iko Iko (My Bestie)”
The good mood song doesn’t come from summer 2021, but it’s only really getting started now. Originally released in 2017, Justin Wellington and Small Jam are now surfing the wave of success of the TikTok challenges with their song. The song also made it into the top ten of the German charts in 2021. The original hit comes from 1953. At that time the song was released under the name “Chock-A-Mo” by James Crawford (1934-2012) and has since been covered several times by different artists.
El Profesor: “Bongo Cha Cha Cha”
Since the hit “Bella Ciao” in 2018 at the latest, many have been asking themselves: Who is actually behind El Profesor, who is supposed to be a well-known artist and who keeps his identity a secret? According to the rumor mill, it could be Martin Solveig (44), David Guetta (53) or Hugel (33). Whoever the successful DJ is, he’ll have another possible summer hit in 2021. He has reissued the hit “Bongo Cha-Cha-Cha” from 1958, then sung by Caterina Valente (90) and Silvio Francesco (1927-2000), with a catchy beat.
Ed Sheeran: “Bad Habits”
Another hit is Ed Sheeran’s (30) new song “Bad Habits”. There is no summer feeling with bad habits and Sheeran prefers to stay away from daylight as a vampire in the music video. Nevertheless, the song of the successful Briton runs up and down on the radio during the hot season.
Måneskin: “Beggin ‘”
They are the winners of the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 and have sung their way into the hearts of their fans. So it’s no wonder that the rock group Måneskin from Italy is just taking off. Not only their ESC song “Zitti e buoni” has become a hit, “Beggin ‘” is also enjoying great success. The cover of The Four Seasons classic “Beggin ‘” from 1967 is considered one of the contenders for the summer hit 2021.
Alvaro Soler: “Magia”
Alvaro Soler (30) spreads a good mood with his song “Magia”. With the album of the same name, the Spanish-German singer recently made it to number three in the German charts. The hit is bursting with zest for life and energy – will it also make it to the summer hit in 2021?
Rauw Alejandro: “Todo De Ti”
He could also deliver the summer hit 2021: Rauw Alejandro’s (28) song “To De Ti” was only released in May, but the music video has already more than 265 million views on YouTube. The hit encourages dancing and exudes a lot of summer vibes.
