At the summer party conference in Sursee/LU, Central President Gerhard Pfister got the around 300 delegates in the mood for the last four months of the election campaign.
In times when what was supposedly safe has become unsafe, the political center is more important than ever.

“Polarization is increasing,” said the party president. Only the middle stands for the balance between the regions, the social groups, between the financially well-off and the financially weak. “We hold Switzerland together.”
Four challenging years
The center is ready for the election campaign. “Our form is right,” said Pfister. The center can go into the elections “confidently and optimistically” – even if the past four years have been more challenging for the party than ever before. “We have carried out a reform, a name change and an opening of our party,” said Pfister.
After various thematic workshops, the program also includes a speech by Defense Minister Viola Amherd on the subject of “Switzerland’s security in challenging times.”
