Millennials will probably remember the big halterneck trend of the ’00s. Who would have thought that the look would have another big fashion peek twenty years later. But a few things have changed since then.

Earlier this year we wrote: “Another fashion trend from the 2000s is reclaiming the catwalks: the halterneck.” Halter styles are probably one of the biggest fashion trends in 2023 and are subordinate to the Y2K style. While in the past it was mainly plain, wide straps that were worn, this summer it is much more eye-catching models that are in fashion. Here you can find out how to style them, what to look out for and which models have the wow factor.

Summer trend 2023: This is how we wear halter tops

Bikini style halter tops

A fashion comeback is particularly exciting when it has received an update. The halter tops of the past, with deep V-necks and wide straps, look more like a bikini top than a top this summer. A bustier that resembles a lying eight ends in a neck cord. A stylish cut-out below the chest adds variety to the wardrobe. Boring suddenly becomes exciting and you immediately radiate a holiday feeling. Our tip: treat the skin with a self-tanning lotion beforehand, which reinforces the holiday character of the outfit.

Crossed straps

Sometimes there is no need to reinvent the wheel. Halter tops simply get a new strap and they look more modern and at the same time flatter our figure. Tops with crossed straps have the advantage that the shoulder area is emphasized positively, so that the arm looks more defined. Fashionista Grece prefers a black model, but there are no limits to the colors in the coming summer season. The classic halterneck

Good news for those who already wore halter tops in the ’00s, the classic cut is still very popular. Whether worn as a dress or a crop top, the V-neckline has many variations this summer. Cropped tops look particularly cool with maxi skirts or cargo pants.
