In mid-January, the large travel and booking platform HolidayCheck filtered out the best hotels from more than 752,000 reviews from holiday guests. A total of 680 hotels from 32 countries received an award. We show five resorts around the Mediterranean that promise a top-class summer vacation.
1. Grupotel Parc Natural & Spa, Mallorca: Family vacation on the powdered sugar beach
Highlight in the northeast of Mallorca: The Platja de Muro beach stretches out in the extensive bay of Alcúdia, directly in front of the Albufera nature park and bird sanctuary. A paradise for dune freaks. The 5-star hotel Grupotel Parc Natural & Spa with its 187 modern and brightly furnished rooms is located directly on the six-kilometer-long powder sugar beach.
Bathers, active holidaymakers and families will find calm, gently sloping water and fantastic views of the bay here. For children there is a large pool, a children’s club and indoor and outdoor playgrounds. Young people and adults can have fun playing billiards, table tennis and volleyball. Or in the spa, which has a sauna, ice fountain and experience showers. The hotel received great praise not only for its cuisine, but also for the courteous and warm staff.
2. Park Hotel Brasilia, Veneto: Jesolo at its most beautiful
Style and elegance in Jesolo: Park Hotel Brasilia is the name of the 4-star hotel, which is located directly on the wide sandy beach of Lido di Jesolo. The best thing: The owner-managed hotel has a private section of beach with free loungers and parasols. Here, guests can relax and swim undisturbed or retreat a few meters back to the heated outdoor pool or into the private garden – always with a fantastic view of the Adriatic. This can also be enjoyed from the restaurant (highlighted by many users!).
The dominant colors in the hotel are cream and wood tones – matching the elegance. Families with children are very welcome and will find a number of rooms tailored to their needs. For example, there is a separate lockable room for strollers. Bicycles and helmets can be rented free of charge for the six cycle routes along the lagoons. Speaking of the lagoon: The Park Hotel Brasilia is also a good starting point for tours to Venice.
3. Atrium Prestige Thalasso Spa Resort & Villas, Rhodes: Aah, like architecture!
A dream in white and blue: the national colors of Greece set the tone in the 5-star hotel Atrium Prestige Thalasso Spa Resort & Villas on Rhodes. White, curved, open-topped buildings and cube houses merge with infinity pools and the Aegean Sea to create one of the most beautiful sights on the southeast coast near the small town of Lachania. Hotel guests also rave about the large private beach and the excellent Greek cuisine served in six different restaurants and on their outdoor terraces.
For children there is a playground and a mini golf course in the large garden, an indoor children’s area, a mini club and a mini disco. For adults, the AnaNeosis Thalasso Spa, a large fitness room and sports facilities such as tennis, volleyball and basketball. Animation programs with games and competitions as well as evening shows and live music await all age groups. And according to user reviews, all of this is “at the highest level”.
4. Lara Barut Collection, Turkish Riviera: Superlatives for the whole family
Lagoon and garden area, swim-up suites, slide park, giant garden and private beach: the 5-star hotel Lara Barut Collection near Antalya seems to fulfill all holidaymakers’ dreams. Be it for children with water games, slides, various pools and mini club offers from morning to night. Or that of adults with a champagne breakfast, private beach area, leisure and wellness offers – from tennis, water skiing or archery to massages and beauty treatments to 24-hour WhatsApp concierge service.
Many hotel guests were impressed by the cuisine in the nine themed restaurants and the fact that the Lara Barut has been awarded the certificate for sustainable tourism by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC).

5. Tui Blue Palm Garden, Turkish Riviera
15 villas, generously distributed in a palm garden on the coast: The 4.5-star resort Tui Blue Palm Garden is located between Antalya and Alanya, more precisely near Manavgat and Side, directly on a long, steep sandy beach Pebble beach. Families and couples feel particularly comfortable here. The reasons: There is a spacious pool area with several slides. Private daybeds on the beach. A Turkish hammam, various saunas, three restaurants, four bars and an all-inclusive offer that promises treats around the clock.
But the conditions are also fantastic for exercise junkies: the modern training offering ranges from functional TRX training and Zumba to sea jogging, outdoor cycling and yoga. Of course, there is also a huge fitness studio with the most modern equipment. This has, among other things, earned the resort a top spot among the award hotels. For many HolidayCheck reviewers, the time there passed too quickly. You would have liked to stay longer to try out everything on offer.
