100,000 euros of public money
This “summit dinner” – organized at the end of June at the invitation of Laurent Wauquiez in a Beaujolais castle for 90 personalities – cost the region just over 100,000 euros, or more than 1,100 euros per guest, meal and rental included. . According to Mediapart who revealed this case, a consultant also charged 48,000 euros for the organization.
“As elected officials, we must be aware and we have not been informed of anything, but now Laurent Wauquiez owes us answers by the beginning of February”, said socialist regional councilor Johann Cesa. On the strength of Cada’s opinion, the opposition is also awaiting the communication of the list of guests and proof of expenses. She also asks for the list of receptions of this type organized since 2015 and those that could be scheduled.
For its part, the regional executive assures the Figaro that “the Region will soon communicate the existing requested documents in accordance with the reservations issued by the Casa, once the services have gathered the corresponding elements”.
