Announced in 2017, the upcoming blockchain-based MMORPG set in the Summoners War universe is coming to Korea very soon.

Known for the monumental success that is Summoners War: Sky Arena, Com2us returns with its colorful universe with a MMOs who has intended to lay the foundations for a Summoners War Universe that had already been initiated with Lost Centuria.

After years of teasing and testing, the game will be released on August 16 in South Korea and later for the rest of the world. Pre-registration for South Korean players is open to allow them to enjoy cosmetics and a mount when the title is released.

This mobile MMORPG will offer the player the possibility of embodying three different types of summoners: an offense, a tank and a support. The main principle of the game is similar to Sky Arena as players must build a team to advance through the game using the over 350 summons available. However, the title also wants to be a video game based on the blockchain which therefore incorporates “play-to-earn” mechanics that Com2uS hides behind the name “play-to-own”.

Players will be able to monetize their items and summons as NFTs through Korean crypto-asset markets. Although the developers have rebrand the principle of “play-to-earn”, it remains to be seen whether the South Korean gaming regulator is going to let the title out since the latter has banned the publication of games with Blockchain-related elements on the Google Play Store and Apple Store since December 2021.
