For the Clippers it was the ninth win from the last eleven games, the team from Los Angeles consolidated fourth place in the Western Conference, Oklahoma is currently second with one more win.
In the end, the outstanding actor of the evening was Paul George. The forward scored 38 points and particularly shone in the final quarter. Daniel Theis contributed nine points, eight rebounds and three blocks to the success in just under 20 minutes on the floor. A strong performance from the 31-year-old. Two days earlier, Theis and Co. had been defeated in a close duel with leaders Minnesota Timberwolves (105:109).
In the second top game of the evening, the Philadelphia 76ers beat champions Denver Nuggets 126:121. Joel Embiid won the direct duel of the league’s most valuable players in recent years against Nikola Jokić. Embiid scored 41 points and ten assists for the second game in a row, while Jokić had 25 points and 19 rebounds.
Thanks to a strong final spurt, the Phoenix Suns prevailed against the Sacramento Kings 119:117. Five minutes before the end, the Kings were still leading by 17 points, but after that they only scored four points. Star player Kevin Durant hit the two decisive free throws with just under two seconds left. Grayson Allen set the Suns’ club record with nine converted three-point throws.
