Superman’s next flight looms. James Gunn, new kingpin of the DC Cinematic Universe, is in full preparation for his next film Superman: Legacyscheduled for 2025. The director of Guardians of the Galaxy thus refines its casting, and has found its future Clark Kent and Lois Lane.
Who to succeed Henry Cavill?
A few months after Henry Cavill’s last appearance as Superman in black adamthree actors are thus in the running to take over the role of the son of Krypton: Nicholas Hoult, David Corenswet and Tom Brittney.

Nicholas Hoult is the best-known comedian of the lot. The public could see it in the movies Mad Max: Fury Road, X-Men or the recent Renfield. For the anecdote, the 33-year-old actor had also auditioned to play Matt Reeves’ Batman, before the role went to Robert Pattinson, and an insistent rumor announced him as a potential Lex Luthor.
David Corenswet played in the playoffs We Own the City, The Politician And Hollywood by Ryan Murphy. For his part, Tom Brittney has a short but promising career: the playoffs Outlander, Invasion And Unrealor movies USS Greyhound with Tom Hanks.
What would Clark Kent be without Lois Lane? Three actresses are also in the running to play the Daily Planet journalist, and will take over from Amy Adams. These are Emma Mackey, Rachel Brosnahan and Phoebe Dynevor.

Sex Education, Death on the Nile, eiffel, Barbie… At 28, Emma Mackey already has a fine career, and will remind the older among us of Margot Kidder, who played the character in 1978’s Superman.
Haloed by her role in The Fabulous Mrs. Maisel, Rachel Brosnahan would also be a quality Lois Lane. Phoebe Dynevor has the advantage of being the least known on the list, despite her roles in the popular series Bridgerton from Netflix.
As a reminder, James Gunn is in charge of the future DC cinematic universe with producer Peter Safran. Last February, he presented his plan for the next ten years, announcing in particular a film Swamp Thing (directed by James Mangold), an adaptation of the Batman comic book The Brave and the Boldand series Green Lantern And Creature Commandos.

Keystone of this new universe, the film Superman: Legacy is written and directed by Gunn himself, and will tell the tension felt by Clark Kent between his ordinary life and that of a superhero. If few details are yet known, the film is scheduled to be released on July 11, 2025 in cinemas.
Where can I watch Superman movies online?
Are you a Superman fan? Good luck finding The Adventures of the Son of Krypton in the SVOD offerings. Canal+ and Disney+ do not offer any films or series Supermanwhen Netflix only has Justice League to offer in its catalog.
For their part, subscribers to Amazon Prime Video are a little better off, with man of steel and the series Smallville. But they will have to rent or buy VOD if they want to enjoy the other films and series in the franchise.
