Supernatural and Co .: These series endings were not well received by the fans

"Supernatural" fans have mixed feelings about the finale of the mystery series. It is not the first end of the series that causes disappointment.

After 15 seasons, the finale of the mystery series "Supernatural" has flickered across the screens in the USA. The final act of the two Winchester brothers, who have been played by Jensen Ackles (42, "Smallville") and Jared Padalecki (38, "Gilmore Girls") since 2005, should actually be shown in May. But filming had to be interrupted due to the corona pandemic, so that the broadcast of the final episodes was delayed. On the net, fans are very hard on the conclusion.

Attention, the following passages contain massive spoilers from the series finale of "Supernatural" and other hit series!

That bothers fans at the "Supernatural" final

In the last episode, the surprising death of Dean (Ackles) causes horror. He is undoed by a sharp object that pierced his back in a final battle with vampires. After a tearful farewell to his brother Sam (Padalecki), he goes to heaven, which presents itself as a beautiful forest. There he meets Bobby Singer (played by Jim Beaver, 70). Meanwhile, Sam marries, becomes a father, calls his son Dean and in the end dies peacefully. He too goes to heaven, where he is reunited with his brother.

Fans complain online that after 15 seasons in which the Winchester brothers fought against demons and almighty gods, among other things, Dean's death was ultimately brought about by a sharp object. That is "stupid", "ridiculous", "unworthy" and "the scriptwriters will go to hell for it", can be read on Twitter, among other things. "Supernatural" has thus joined a prominent club.

Worldwide horror over "Game of Thrones"

In 2019, the finale of the hit series "Game of Thrones" caused a worldwide outcry. In season eight, the White Walkers and the Night King were defeated, but Jon Snow (Kit Harington, 33) ended up killing Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke, 34), who went from savior to tyrant. Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright, 21) climbed the Iron Thorn.

The public criticism: The finale is unworthy, does not match the previous course of the series, characters have been vilified, much is simply not understandable. Fans even started an online petition to have the entire eighth season re-shot. Over 1.8 million votes have been collected so far.

Team Delena vs. Team Stelena

The mystery series "Vampire Diaries" ended in 2017. In the finale, Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley, 38) sacrifices himself. This brings his brother, brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder, 41), a happy ending with Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev, 31), who is awakening from her deep sleep. The two lead happy human lives (since they are no longer vampires due to a cure) and are reunited with their loved ones after their natural death. Damon with Stefan, Elena with her parents, among others. This created the love triangle around Team Stelena vs. Team Delena finally decided – which did not please all fans.

A return to die

The sitcom "Two And A Half Men" made headlines mainly due to the inglorious sacking of lead actor Charlie Sheen (55), who played Charlie Harper in the first eight seasons. He was replaced by Ashton Kutcher (42) in seasons nine through twelve. In the 2015 sitcom finale, Charlie Harper, who allegedly died, appears in front of the beach house. However, Sheen was replaced by a double that could only be seen from behind. Charlie rings the doorbell, but before anyone can open the door, he is struck by a piano falling from the sky.

The camera then moves back and series creator Chuck Lorre (68) can be seen from behind on a director's chair. He turns to the camera and says: "Won!" Then he too is killed by a piano.

Outrage over "How I Met Your Mother"

In nine seasons of the sitcom How I Met Your Mother (2005-2014), Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor, 46) told his children how he met their mother. In the end, however, Tracy (Cristin Milioti, 35) dies of an unspecified illness. Ted gets back together – with the consent of his children – with his ex-girlfriend Robin (Cobie Smulders, 38), whom he poked at in the first episode of the first season.

Robin's marriage to womanizer Barney (Neil Patrick Harris, 47) didn't last long. The wedding of the two served as the framework for the entire final season. The divorce was then dealt with relatively briefly. Barney also unintentionally becomes a father, which in view of the fact that Robin cannot have children, has also left a bad taste in fans. The home cinema version offers an alternative ending. It skips Tracy's death and ends when Ted and the mother of his children first meet.

Who blasphemed in Manhattan's high society?

The series "Gossip Girl" dissolved in 2012 who was behind the blasphemy portal that had kept the protagonists busy for six seasons. Ironically, Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley, 34) had created "Gossip Girl" so that he could belong to the high society of Manhattan. However, this revelation reaches its logical limits in several scenes in the series. Because Dan can often be seen in a scene while he is said to have blogged at the same time. In addition, it doesn't fit Dan's figure development at all. The reboot being produced for HBO Max should find a better solution.

Confused after "Lost"?

The mystery series "Lost" told in six seasons of the survivors of a plane crash who were stranded on an island. The storylines were complicated and time-consuming. There were different time levels, flashbacks, flash forwards, flash sideways, parallel actions and time leaps. No wonder, then, that in the final, which flickered across the screens in 2010, many questions remained unanswered. In short: A few have been saved, many are dead and meet again in the hereafter. Confused?
