After two months of hard work, a new 52-minute Israeli documentary has been released and retraces the killing perpetrated by Hamas at the Nova festival on October 7, 2023 by those who experienced it. Videos and voice messages filmed and recorded by festival-goers or terrorists. Europe 1 attended the only Parisian screening.

Emmanuel Macron will pay tribute to the French victims of Hamas terrorists on February 7 at the Invalides in Paris. Four months after the October 7 attacks, 1,140 people, including 41 French people, were killed that day in the kibbutzim and at the Nova festival, near the border with the Gaza Strip. An innocent party which ended in bloodshed and scenes of torture as shown in the documentary “Supernova: massacre at the rave party”. 212 videos, voice messages and surveillance camera videos were compiled with testimonies from survivors. Europe 1 attended the only Parisian screening.

“Play dead, play dead!”

No voiceover, no comments. The images are shot on a smartphone, hastily, only the hours and minutes pass by. “Red alert! Red alert! There are missiles!” can we hear. “I’m so scared”, “I’m high”, comments a young man while filming the sky. Another camera, that of the terrorists on motorcycles screaming that blood is going to flow…

Young people hide, filming their faces in close-up, on the ground, in the bushes. Others comment, panic, pray and call their parents. For many, these will be their last words. “Play dead, play dead!” we hear again in the documentary.

130 hostages still held by Hamas

We can imagine a crazy race in the fields recorded by a festival goer. The last images are filmed by a police officer who, trembling, discovers the disaster. “Is there any sign of life?” he asks. 367 festival-goers died in Nova.

130 hostages are still in the hands of Hamas since October 7. Medicines must be sent to them, as well as humanitarian aid for Palestinian civilians, according to an agreement negotiated by France and Qatar.
