Ségolène Royal was the guest of Europe matin weekend this Saturday. At the microphone of Louis de Raguenel, the former PS candidate once again affirmed that Jean-Luc Mélenchon constituted the useful vote on the left. According to her, the people of the left cannot be content with a blocking vote against the extreme right.
Ségolène Royal persists and signs. The former PS presidential candidate believes that the useful vote on the left is the Mélenchon vote. Invited from Europe weekend morning this Saturday, she defended her position by explaining that a blocking vote against the far right would not be enough in the second round of the presidential election for the left to return to the Elysée.
No debate without useful vote
“It’s arithmetic. It’s him who is in front”, defended Ségolène Royal this morning at the microphone of Louis de Raguenel, after having aroused anger and misunderstanding in the ranks of the Socialist Party. PS candidate Anne Hidalgo said she was shocked by this position. “It’s bound to be shocking when someone in your political family, at a time like this, is not supportive”, she said at the microphone of Radio J, Thursday morning.
For Ségolène Royal, it is however necessary to vote useful on the left in this presidential election. “There needs to be a real debate in the second round,” she explained this morning on Europe 1. “And not once again just a mobilization to make a blocking vote against the far right. right, the useful vote is Valérie Pécresse and on the left, it’s Jean-Luc Mélenchon.”
Mélenchon has “worked a lot”
The former Minister of the Environment believes that it is “in everyone’s interest”, including Emmanuel Macron, that there is this political debate. “Today, it happens to be Jean-Luc Mélenchon who is in front. Why? Probably because he already has experience of a presidential campaign. I also think he has worked a lot. I I don’t agree with everything he says but we have to find convergences”, underlines Ségolène Royal, who relies in particular on the example of Portugal where “there was a mobilization on an effective vote”.
