Microsoft is not launching a Surface Studio 3, but a Surface Studio 2+ which improves the formula of the range, with, among other things, a sharp increase in performance.

Four years after the Surface Studio 2 was released, we thought we’d see a Surface Studio 3 arrive at Microsoft’s Surface Conference today. Instead, we have a Surface Studio 2+ which, as its name suggests, does not represent a revolution in the range.

A display and design designed for creatives

The all-in-one computer has a 28-inch touch screen with a 3:2 ratio. It displays a definition of 4,500 x 3,000 pixels, is Dolby Vision compatible and offers deeper and more precise colors, but also better gradients, promises Microsoft.

It has a tilting foot called “Zero Gravity” which allows you to find the perfect angle for all activities and body positions. In short, this product is a little gem that many creative people will dream of.

The connection is generous, since the Surface Studio 2+ has three USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB-A 3.1 ports, a 3.5 mm audio jack and a 1 Gbps Ethernet port. Wireless connectivity is limited to Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1.

We also have a 1080p webcam and two microphones for video meetings as well as 2.1 Dolby Atmos stereo speakers.

An Intel CPU of 11e generation and an RTX 3060 GPU

In the bowels of the beast, Microsoft has integrated a powerful Intel Core i7-11370H processor. One wonders all the same why such a premium product does not benefit from a CPU of 12e generation. The computer also has 32 GB of DDR4 RAM, 1 TB of SSD and a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card.

The American company reports that its Surface Studio 2+ is 50% more efficient than the Surface Studio 2 it replaces, and that its graphics capabilities are multiplied by 2, thanks to the presence of the RTX 3060 in particular.

Surface Pen, Keyboard, and Mouse come with Surface Studio 2+, which runs Windows 11 Pro. In France, only one configuration is available, at 5,589 euros. The pre-order is open for a start of marketing scheduled for the 1er next November.
